On the Job
“I’m technical lead on a team that’s developing a system which will enable operators to see how cell phones are performing throughout their networks. I lead the web server section of this project, and I’m responsible for the overall architecture of the software. What I like best about my job is the variety of work that I get. I’ve been able to work with a lot of different systems and architectures, I’ve had several exciting opportunities to work on patents and I keep learning new things about wireless technology. I love this field. It’s very cutting edge.”

“Wherever I am I use my cell phone to make voice calls, surf the web, watch newscasts or to catch up on sports highlights. I’m not bound by wires or TV or cable networks anymore. I’m just free. There are some countries like Brazil and India where the number of wireless handsets exceeds the number of landline connections. Qualcomm is a provider in giving these developing countries a way to communicate, and that’s a seed for moving up.”
